Kabukicho Yakuza Game Comparison of Kamurocho in “Like a Dragon Gaiden” and the actual Kabukicho!
Kamurocho, the setting of the “Like a Dragon Gaiden” game series, is modeled after Kabukicho. When the game was first developed, the dialogue and text were created as “Kabukicho”, but the Shinjuku City government had difficulty using the name, so it was changed to “Kamimurocho”!

Kamurocho is a 400m square area with many restaurants, entertainment establishments, gambling halls, and even an underground arena. In the film, Kamurocho is depicted as an extremely unsafe town as it is a hotbed for the Tojokai, a huge criminal organization, and other domestic and international crime syndicates. Although the actual Kabukicho is not as safe as it is in the game, the situation is not as extreme as in the game.
Kamurocho is full of yakuza, gangsters, and ill-behaved hosts, and fights break out frequently, but all stores continue to operate normally. It is characterized as a town with a strong business spirit, including the real Kabukicho.
