Shinjuku Shopping Complete Guide

Shinjuku Shopping – There are so many department stores and malls in Shinjuku that it may be difficult to keep track of them all!

In this article, we will introduce you to all the stores that exist in Shinjuku where you can enjoy shopping.

Each area will be introduced separately, so be sure to stop by the stores that are close to your other destinations.

Shinjuku Shopping – East Area

The atmosphere of the city changes depending on who enjoys shopping, from the plaza at the East Exit, which is crowded with young people, to the area near Shinjuku 3-chome, where adults and foreign tourists come and go. If the area consists of many stores, such as department stores, we will introduce a selection of popular stores!

Shinjuku Shopping

The first shopping mall we will introduce in the east area is LUMINE EST. It is a station building directly connected to the east exit of JR Shinjuku Station, so you can enjoy shopping when you have a little free time and want to enjoy shopping or when it is raining and you do not want to go outside the station as much as possible!

There are many clothing stores, but there are also cosmetic stores, general stores, cafes, restaurants, and many other types of stores.

There are many fashion stores for young people, so if you want to see clothes, this is the place to go!

Shinjuku Alta is so often used for rendezvous that the phrase “meeting in front of Alta” has become a common phrase.

The outdoor advertisement called “ALTA VISION” is a landmark, so you should be able to get to the store without getting lost!

This is a great place to use for a rendezvous because it is not as crowded as right outside the JR East Exit.

You can also walk through the station and get there from the basement, so even on rainy days, you can go without worrying about getting wet.

The shopping mall contains stores selling mainly women’s fashion and sundries!

LUMINE 1″ and “LUMINE 2” are two separate buildings.

Both are commercial facilities that house stores related to the overall lifestyle of working women in their 20’s and 30’s. The LUMINE 1 and LUMINE 2 are located in separate buildings.

The shopping malls target an older demographic than LUMINE EST in the east area, so they are more suitable for mature women!

LUMINE 2 is also home to LUMINE the Yoshimoto, where Yoshimoto Kogyo comedians perform live, so comedy lovers are sure to enjoy their performances!
