Ms. Yuko Nagayama of Yuko Nagayama Architects Ltd!
is a Japanese architect who runs Yuko Nagayama Architects. Her father is a physicist, Kuniaki Nagayama.
Brief History
- 1975 Born in Tokyo, Japan.
- 1998 Graduated from Showa Women’s University, Faculty of Life Science, Department of Life Aesthetics (age 23)
- 1998 – 2002 Worked for Jun Aoki & Associates
- 2002 Established Yuko Nagayama Architects (age 27)
- 2006 AR Awards (UK) “Highly Commended Award” and others
- 2020 Visiting Professor at Musashino Art University

Mr. Nagayama believes that architecture is a means to weave a story, and that each building should reflect the story of the land and the people who use it.
He also said that she thinks deeply about the uniqueness of his designs and how they affect the urban landscape and people’s daily lives.
In addition, Ms. Nagayama mentions future projects, such as designing pavilions for the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo, and how her creative vision will unfold.
